BUNNY ON THE CROSSROADS OF LIFE

2020 | Short Film | 14 min

A gypsy boy steals a bunny from a pet store. Witnessing the theft, a woman from the nearby café walks up to him trying to make him return the bunny, but the boy runs away. Determined to stop him, she approaches a security guard who doesn’t notice the events around him, and forces him to react. He begins searching for the boy.

The boy spots the guard and continues to run with the bunny in his arms. As he is trying to hide, the boy enters a park, where he notices a girl of a similar age, who responds with a smile and approaches him. She starts to ask many questions, but once she realizes that the bunny is not his pet, and it will in fact, be cooked as food, she starts following the boy, trying to talk him out of it. Through a series of conversations about the different environments they grew up in, slowly they develop a mutual understanding and close friendship.

At the end, the boy decides to gift the rabbit to the girl. Happy that the bunny will not be cooked and eaten, she asks why he has changed his mind. He half-jokingly answers that she has destroyed his desire to steal. Pleased with the outcome, she invites him to visit her and the bunny whenever he wants. The bunny at the crossroads of his life becomes the reason for the beginning of a new friendship.
